UPDATE: MATCHING FUNDS CHALLENGE 6/22/2015

An anonymous and caring supporter recently stepped up to challenge Keeper of the Wild's supporters to raise $20,000 in the month of June. She said if they do, she will add $10,000 to it toward the building of a new Center in Walterboro
Now, at June 19, combining our PayPal, GoFundMe, and checks received, with 12 more days to go in June, supporters so far have donated $11,000, just a little over half!
We still need $9,000 more to meet the $20,000 challenge to qualify for the additional $10,000 super bonus toward our badly needed new Center building. If you have not yet responded, please do. If you have, THANK YOU! Please share the news and encourage others to donate.
This is like a$10,000 bonus!! Keeper of the Wild and the wildlife needs your help. We believe we can reach this $20,000 challenge and get the $10,000 bonus to go with it! If you could hear the stories our volunteers are sharing about babies in cages in their homes everywhere, in living rooms and bathrooms and garages with fans all over, babies in cages in campers outside their homes with A/C running to it, personal refrigerators full of of chopped vegetables and animal food and having to squeeze room for family food. They are all working hard to hang in there for the babies, feeding through the nights, dealing with healthy and not so healthy animals through the good and the bad. We have dedicated, compassionate, and loving volunteers, but we really need our Center. Please do what you can for them and our babies that need us. Any amount will help and we desperately need it. It will be appreciated more than you know....
Please think about it a $10,000 bonus! This is almost too easy for us to miss out on. Please help us benefit by helping us make $9,000 more to make that $20,000 challenge!
See info on how to donate below.
Thank you ! We know we cannot do what we do without YOU!
Janet Kinser, Director
Keeper of the Wild

As you may already know, we lost our lease to our home of ten years and must be completely off the property by the end of August.  We are already out of our old Center, and though it is hard since this is the middle of baby season, we are still operating and babies are presently being cared for in our volunteers’ homes.  We asked for your prayers that we would know God’s plan for Keeper of the Wild.  We believe His answer was Mrs. Mary Julia Royal, one of our supporters, who stepped up and donated land to us in Walterboro that will be a permanent location for a permanent home for Keeper of the Wild.

The land is cleared and ready and $10,000.00 has already been paid down on the building.  The building will be built in three phases.  The middle section will be the first phase with the sides later in phases two and three as funds are raised.  We will need concrete poured, a contractor to erect the building, electricity, carpentry work, a septic tank, pump and drain field, and more.  It will include a nursery, a kitchen, and a quarantine ward.  We are hoping many services and materials will be donated from businesses or in honor or memory of loved ones.  Once work has begun, progress updates will be posted on the Keeper of the Wild Facebook page and on our website.

Here Is More Exciting News!  One of our loyal supporters has offered us an amazing matching grant challenge!  If we can raise $20,000 (Twenty Thousand dollars!) from our supporters as a result of a summer letter/fund raising campaign, we will receive a matching grant of an additional $10,000, which would give us a total of $30,000 raised toward our new Keeper of the Wild Center building in Walterboro!

We are spreading this information to everyone, through letters, email, our FACEBOOK page, website and word of mouth, and we ask you to help share it, too!  Many have always given what they can to us.  Now is the time to make it count even more!

Any amount will be deeply appreciated and help Keeper of the Wild reach our $20,000 goal.  We are also offering the following rewards.

  • Keeper of the Wild Bronze Building Backers  (Those who donate $250) Will have the privilege of naming one of our rescued animals. (We send you a photo, you send us the name.  The animal will be known by that name as long as it is in our care.)

  • Keeper of the Wild Silver Building Backers  (Those who donate $500.00) Will receive an invitation for a date to view an actual release back to the wild and will have the privilege of naming one of our rescued animals.

  • Keeper of the Wild Golden Building Backers  (Those who donate $1000) Will receive an invitation for a reception date to tour the new Center upon completion, an invitation for a date to view an actual release back to the wild and will have the privilege of naming one of our rescued animals.

Before we asked everyone to pray for God’s plan for us, and Mrs. Royal stepped up to donate land for us. Now we have this challenge and $10,000 we will receive from this wonderful donor if we can reach our goal of $20,000 in total supporter donations for this letter /fund raising campaign. So now we ask that you pray with us once more that the funds will come and our new permanent home will become a reality.

We hope you understand and join us in our excitement in this exceptional opportunity for Keeper of the Wild.

As always, we “THANK YOU” for any consideration! We know we cannot do what we do without YOU!

Our deadline for this challenge is June 30

Updates will be posted on our Keeper of the Wild FACEBOOK page and here.
